Harriet Fatima (Silva) Pereira
July 14, 1935 - April 19, 2017

Harriet Fatima (Silva) Pereira, a resident of Tracy for 27 years, died April 19, 2017, in Tracy. Born to Antonio Silva and Maria Avila Silva on July 14, 1935, in Terceira, Azores, she was married to Manuel Pereira for 50 years. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mom, vava and great-grandma who always put her family first.
Mom and Dad left Terceira, Azores to start a new life with their young children in American. This was a huge sacrifice for them to leave their Country and relatives behind.
God blessed us with an amazing Mom that raised us in a warm, caring, loving, nurturing home.
She loved family gatherings, cooking, camping, crafts (jewelry, crocheting), sewing. Christmas was her favorite holiday and Halloween was a close second. Every year she would pass out candy in memory of her first born child Edward who passed away at 6 months old.
We will always cherish our wonderful childhood memories because of Mom and her everlasting love for family.
Mrs. Pereira is survived by her three children, Maryann Reis (Tracy, CA), George Pereira (Newark, CA), and Michael Pereira (Tracy CA); six grandchildren, Jennifer Saenz (Tracy, CA), Christina Christopher (Fremont, CA), Michelle Pereira (Tracy, CA), Michael Pereira (Tracy, CA), David Pereira (Tracy, CA), Amanda Pereira (Tracy, CA); and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Pereira and her two sons, Edward Pereira and Daniel Pereira.
A Rosary will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at 7:00 P.M. at Fry Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church followed by burial at the Tracy Public Cemetery.
