Joey Bucago Cayabyab, 54, entered into rest on December 23, 2017.
Joey was born on April 19, 1963 in Manila, Philippines to Francisco and Aurora Cayabyab. He was the youngest of six children. In 1968, the family came the states and made a home in the Bay Area. Joey graduated from Milpitas High School in 1981 and was an avid wrestler throughout high school. He always strived to further his education. While in the Bay Area, he went to college for Liberal Arts. At the time of his death, he was enrolled in classes at Los Rios Community College District in Sacramento.
Joey was a fun, loving and devoted father, son, brother and uncle. He took his daughters, nieces and nephews everywhere, from theme parks to beaches. He was the life of the party and always laughing while having a good time.
Joey is survived by his daughters, Erica Parilla and Jocelyn Lustina; his grandsons, Landen Parilla, Logan Parilla, Lucas Parilla, and Jace Lustina; his father Francisco Cayabyab; and his siblings Evelyn Pallaya, Danilo Cayabyab, Edgardo Cayabyab, Wilma Cayabyab, and Ronald Cayabyab. He is preceded in death by his mother, Aurora Cayabyab.
Visitation will be at Fry Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, 12-9pm with a Rosary at 7pm. A Celebration on life will follow on Thursday, January 4th at 10am at Fry Memorial Chapel.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate Joey’s life. Reception immediately following at Moose Lodge #2283, 35 E. 6th Street, Tracy, CA. Flowers may be sent to Fry Memorial Chapel at 550 S.
