John Edward Wachtler passed away in Lake Havasu City, Arizona on October 20, 2017 at the age of 89. He was born to Edward and Flora (Tobin) Wachtler in Omaha, Nebraska on August 11, 1928.
John was proud to have served his country in the United States Army. He married his true love, Mary "Olga", on July 5, 1947 and they enjoyed traveling and spending time with their family. John also enjoyed fishing, watching football, working in his yard and the occasional trip to the casino.
John was blessed to be able to spend his last two months in Lake Havasu City, Arizona with his daughter, Doreen and her husband Don, enjoying the beautiful weather, lake, and some fun in the pool.
John is preceded in death by his wife; Mary Olga Wachtler, his parents; Edward and Flora Wachtler, and his daughter-in-law Donna Wachtler, and his granddaughter, Jami Bender.
He is survived by his son; David Wachtler; daughters, Diane (Dan) Weyker and Doreen (Don) Bender; sister, Carol Wachtler; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
A Rosary will held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 7:00 pm with visitation beginning at 5:00 pm at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 South Central Avenue in Tracy, CA. He will be laid to rest privately at Tracy Public Cemetery.
