Luis de Sousa, 76, passed away Tuesday, July 18, after a long illness.
Luis was born February 19, 1941, in Feteira, Terceira, to Manuel and Ana Vitoria.
Luis was a devoted Catholic and enjoyed going to Festas, bullfights and spending time with family and friends. He was much loved by everyone he met. Luis attended St. Bernard’s Catholic Church regularly. Luis and Fatima also enjoyed traveling throughout California, Europe and Portugal.
Luis was a get-up-and-go kind of guy when it came to work time. He loved watching the animals grazing on pasture he planted.
Luis is survived by his loving wife Fatima of 49 years; brother Manuel Vitoria (Maria), sisters Ana Galhano, Lurdes Pimentel (Manuel), brother-in-law Joao I. Dinis, and many nieces and nephews.
Luis was preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Ana Vitoria, brother-in-law Frank Galhano, and sister-in-law Nivia D. Vieira.
Vigil services to be held at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., Tracy on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass to be held on Thursday at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave., Tracy at 11:00 a.m.
Luis’s smile was a ray of sunshine and all generations/ages enjoyed being with him. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
