Maria Francisca Goulart, 87, passed away at her residence after a brief illness on March 31, 2017. She was born May 2, 1929 in Terra Do Pao, Pico, Azores.
Francisca immigrated to New Bedford, MA, in 1960 and became a United States Citizen in 1976. She worked as a seamstress until her retirement in 1994.
She was known for her infectious laugh that brought joy to all those around her. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, caring for her beloved pets and crocheting.
Her survivors include her brother, Joao Ferreira of New Bedford, MA, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings Nazare Morais, Fatima DeMelo and Manuel Goulart.
She will be greatly missed by her niece, Ligia Cothren, her husband, Craig Cothren, and their children Zachary and Devin, with whom she shared a home since moving to Tracy, CA, in 2012.
Services will be held on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., Tracy. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am followed by a Rosary & Prayer Service at 11:00 am. Francisca will be laid to rest at the Tracy Public Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Rd, Tracy.
