Mary Elizabeth Barnes

Mary Elizabeth Barnes passed away on April 2, 2024, at the age of 88 in Tracy, CA. She was born on April 16, 1935, in Albion, Nebraska. Mary was a loving and caring woman who was known for her infectious laughter and constant smile. She had a passion for singing and music.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Judy A. Gallegos and husband Larry of Tracy, CA and Jackie Carvajal and husband Steve of Gilbert, AZ; 6 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde D. Barnes, children Barbara J. Barnes, Joseph A. Barnes and James M. Barnes and grandsons Dominic T. Antonnacchi, Colin J. Barnes and Sean Michael Carvajal.

Mary attended Albion High School in Nebraska and later went on to work at Varian in Palo Alto, CA as the manager of the night vision division for 22 years. She worshiped at Corpus Christi in Niles, California, and Saint Bernard's in Tracy, California. Music was a cherished hobby of Mary's.

A ceremony in her honor will be held at 11:30 a.m on Friday, May 17, 2024 at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Santa Nella, CA. A celebration of her life will follow at Anderson's Pea Soup.
