Antonio Luis Rosa

Tribute

Antonio Luis Rosa, 76, passed peacefully away on Saturday at home surrounded by his family. He was born May 4, 1947 in Santo Amaro, São Jorge, Acores to Luís and Maria Françisca da Rosa.

Antonio was a loving Pai to daughters Christina Meza & Rui Cardoso and Margarida Strickland & husband Jeff; Treasured Avô to Brittany, Anthony, Tatiana, Rui and Brianna. He is survived by his brother Jorge da Rosa & wife Lidia and sister Maria de Lurdes Machado & husband Victor. He also leaves behind many cherished nephews, nieces and friends.

After retiring in 2011, he enjoyed a quiet lifestyle taking care of his goats, his dog Max and spending many hours just sitting in his rocking chair enjoying a cigarette.

For many years he loved writing poetry, playing the guitar and crab fishing. He was very creative and loved fixing and building things. Antonio was a faithful believer in Christ; even from his hospital bed, he prayed the rosary.

He is reunited in Heaven with his parents and wife Maria.

Antonio will be remembered for being a hard worker, a family man who loved his daughters, his grandkids and for his humorous sarcastic remarks.

He will be greatly missed, never forgotten, and always loved. May he have eternal rest and peace in Heaven.
