A Mass of Christian burial will be cel¬ebrated on Friday, September 21, 2018, for Arma Lee Stroup, a longtime Tracy resident, who passed away peacefully on September 8, 2018, in Tracy.
Mrs. Stroup was born at her family home in Red Oak, Oklahoma, on July 2, 1943, and she moved to California with her family as a young child and attended local elementary schools. Mrs. Stroup attended Tracy High School, where she met her high school sweetheart and future husband, Jim, and was married by the Rev. Eugene J. Shea at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Tracy on June 7, 1961 — the day of her high school graduation. Mrs. Stroup was a faithful and devout Catholic, a devoted wife and mother of ten children, and a longtime parishioner at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church.
Mrs. Stroup cherished all things having to do with family, especially spending time with her 23 grandchildren. She spent most of her life providing love, care and strength to her children and grandchildren. She will be forever remembered in our hearts for her beautiful smile, enduring faith and love of family.
Survivors include her children James (Dee Dee), Greg (Valerie), Mark (Loree), Eric, Christopher, Julie (Mike), Nicole (Robert) and Nate, and her 23 grandchildren. Also her sisters, Patricia Randolph and Sharon Perez.
Preceding Mrs. Stroup in death were her husband, James L. Stroup (1943-1995), a Tracy attorney for many years, and two of their children, Mark James (1962) and Timothy Andrew (1977-1978). Also her father, Armon Rogers Graham; stepfather, Walt Simon; mother, Lacey Delores Simon; and brother, Michael Simon.
