Welcome to the memorial page for

Carolyn Y Snodderly

November 8, 1955 ~ January 9, 2018 (age 62) 62 Years Old

God called home one of his angels January 9, 2018.

Carol Yvonne Snodderly, born in Modesto California on November 8, 1955 passed after complications from a brief illness. Carol's passion for helping others was second to none. After years of waitressing for various well known restaurants in Tracy, she tried her hand at running her own restaurant called "Carol's Restaurant" for about a year. When the restaurant business didn't work out, she spent many years working at different community centers in San Joaquin County. She also spent several years managing River's End Marina as well as Whiskey Slough Harbor.

Carol had a deeper calling though. She started Helping Hands Ministry, through New Heart Community Church, which she was a member of. Her ministry fed the needy every Monday night for about 11 years. She would also help with clothes and many other needs people had.

About 6 years ago, Carol and her husband Gene founded "A Way Up" of San Joaquin County, which was a Christian based recovery home for men. She opened her heart and home to people ready to make a change in their life. She had a true love for helping others and everyone knew it.

For all her love and passion for others, she had but one love other than God that was stronger, and that was her family. Carol is survived by her husband, Eugene Snodderly, children, Anthony Ramirez III and Alexandria Ramirez, mother,  Ida Farrington, brother, Frank Gilliland, sisters, Arlene Gilliland and Kathy Celestine. She will be missed dearly by her 5 grandchildren, Brittany Ramirez, Alyssa Ramirez, Anthony Ramirez IV, Paige Ramirez, Dominique Lewis and Kristian Davies. She was also blessed with 2 great grandchildren as well. She was preceded in death by her father, Alex Gilliland and her sister, Dolly Ball.

There will be a celebration of life gathering for Carol on Saturday, January 20th at 1pm. The location will be New Heart Community Church 1647 Bessie Ave, Tracy California 95376.

In lieu of flowers, donations to A Way Up Of San Joaquin County would be greatly appreciated and needed. For more info on making donations, please contact Alexandria Davies at 209-346-3514. The family thanks everyone for their love and support.
