Daniel Wade Orey

Daniel Wade Orey died on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 four days after his 44th birthday in Tracy, CA. Born on April 24, 1977 on Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines to Edgar Ivan Orey and Lolita Orate Orey, Daniel fought a brave and accelerated fight after being diagnosed with Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer in February, 2021 before his passing.

Daniel lived a life full of family and friends including 4 siblings, Michael Richard Orey, Annalyn Orate Trayer, Sheila Marie Sorensen and his twin, Dale Wayne Orey. Daniel lived in the Central Coast of California during his adolescent life, graduating from Watsonville High School in 1995. Following earning his Associate’s degree in Medical Billing and Coding from Asher College in 2014, Daniel earned another Associate’s degree in Health Information Technology from the same school. He was currently working on his Medical Billing certification. He continued to live in Monterey Bay until he ventured further out to the Bay Area where he lived and worked in San Jose and Fremont, CA.

Daniel enjoyed finding the best deal at a department store and the tastiest food in town with his friends and family. His artistic and creative side shown through while gardening and caring for his houseplants, testing new recipes, and creating last-minute wedding decorations. And if you ever needed a ride somewhere like moving cross-country, going to a concert or anything in between, Daniel would always be willing to volunteer.

Daniel’s fight with Pancreatic Cancer was a very trying experience, but he faced the situation with bravery. A late diagnosis came with little warning but Daniel fought courageously and kept his amazing smile until his passing.

Daniel is survived by his four siblings, Michael Richard Orey, Annalyn Orate Trayer, Sheila Marie Sorensen, and his twin, Dale Wayne Orey, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. He is predeceased by his father, Edgar Ivan Orey, and his mother, Lolita Orate Orey.

A viewing will take place at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 South Central Avenue, Tracy, CA on Thursday, May 6 from 2:00-9:00pm with a Celebration of Life at 5:30pm.
