Daniel Joseph Tafoya

Daniel Joseph Tafoya passed away Monday, August 10, 2020, in Tracy, California. Daniel was born in New Mexico on December 13, 1933, and moved to the Central Valley as a youngster.
Daniel grew up in Patterson, California,
and graduated from Patterson High School. He met his wife, Dorothy, there, and she was his guiding light for 61 years. They moved to San Diego, where Daniel served in the United States Navy and was commissioned aboard the famous USS Hornet. Daniel and Dorothy moved to Tracy in 1965 and raised their family: son Kirk and daughter Traci.
Daniel was a barber in Tracy for 60 years and was the owner of the Hairitage Barber Shop and “The Barber” for five generations of Tracy families. He always had a great story or joke for his loyal customers, and he is considered a Tracy icon.
Daniel loved to golf and fish and hang out with his family and many friends. He also enjoyed all sports and classic hot rods, cars and trucks.
He was preceded in death by son Kirk, wife Dorothy, brother Leo, and sister Helen. He is survived by daughter Traci Tafoya, son-in-law Mike Heinrich, granddaughters Rachelle and Erin Tafoya, grandsons Atley and Shane Tafoya, great-grandson Evrett Gowan, brothers Lawrence and Bennie Tafoya, and sisters Margaret Duarte and Dolores Wheeland.
Dan will be missed by everyone whose life he touched. … We Love You!
Fry Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Tafoya family. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 24, 2020. He will be laid to rest at Tracy Public Cemetery. An online guest book is available at frymemorialchapel.com for
