David Cannon Helm

David Cannon Helm, 59, passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 23, 2019. He was born August 26, 1959 in Honolulu, Hawaii to the late Lynn & Irene Helm, and has resided in Tracy for the past 16 years.
Dave was a decorated police officer in Hayward, California before he retired and opened Helm’s Ale House where he spent many happy years behind the bar educating people about craft beer and telling crazy stories.
Dave was an active member of the community, much to the chagrin of various civic leaders. He loved his family, his bike, working on old cars, drinking expensive whiskey and smoking cheap cigars. He will be incredibly missed by (almost) everyone who ever had the (dis)pleasure to know him.
Dave is survived by his children, Joseph, Elena, Jacob, Elijah, Bekkah, and Ellie; his brother Daniel; his lifelong friend Monie; and his fiancé Heather.
