David Eric Trevino

September 3, 1958 ~ February 23, 2021 (age 62) 62 Years Old

Tribute

David Eric Trevino passed away on Feb. 22 at age 62 in Tacoma, Washington, doing what he loved best: long-haul trucking. He was so skilled at his job that he was able to safely pull off the road while suffering a fatal heart attack.
Born September 3, 1958, in Tracy to Dan and Sally (Crujido) Trevino, Sr., David attended Tracy Public Schools and graduated from Tracy High in 1976. After a brief stint at Arizona State University, David returned to his hometown to start a family, and his much-loved career as a truck driver.
David married fellow Tracy High alum Susan (Capps) in 1981, who he had daughter Denae with in 1985. They bought a truck in 1986 and started D&S Trucking. David drove as a contracted driver for Yandell Truckaway through 1989. He continued to work as a truck driver for the next 30 years, most recently as a long haul driver with May Trucking Company, driving “more than 6 million miles in 40 years driving” and having visited every one of these contiguous United States. Unfortunately, his marriage with Susan didn’t last. After moving to Sacramento, CA in the mid-90s, he met Sandy Cossey and had son David in 1997. In addition to being on the open road, David’s favorite place to be was with his granddaughters Cecelia, Delilah, Nevaeh, Jordyn, and Destiny.
When David headed up that big highway in the sky, he left behind his daughter Denae Pruner and her husband Joe; his son David Trevino; his stepson Billy Cossey; his stepdaughter Tricia Pulos and her husband Frank; his brother Dan Trevino, Jr., and his wife Vicky; his sister Danette Espinoza; his brother Dean Trevino; his sister Michelle O’Neill and her husband Paul; his uncles Ernie Trevino and Chris Crujido; his aunt Carmen Crujido; five delightful granddaughters, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
David was greeted by his mom and dad at the end of his final journey home.
