Tribute

Dennis M. Wilson passed peacefully away in the presence of family on September 20th after long illness. Dennis was born in Port Heron Michigan to Morris Wilson and Norma (Smith) Wilson. He had one sister, Valerie Lee (Wilson) Worden who preceded him in death.
Dennis joined the United States Marine Corps on October 30, 1958 and ended the first numerous enlistments in Camp Schwab in Okinawa Japan. While in Japan, Dennis met 1st his wife Hatsue Narita. Together they had two children.
He left the United States Marine Corps in 1967 and joined the United States Coast Guard where he retired after 20 years of military service. While in the military, Dennis was stationed in a number of locations including Guam, Japan, North Carolina, and Louisiana. During his military career, Dennis received numerous awards and medal including the Vietnam Service Medal Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Medal, Meritorious Mast in 1967, and Rifle and Pistol Expert Badges to name a few.
After retiring from the Coast Guard, Dennis was hired as an Electronics Technician at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. At the Laboratory he worked on numerous projects including The Mirror Fusion Test Facility. During his tenure at the Laboratory, Dennis earned a master’s degree in Human Resources and Organization Development form the University of San Francisco in 1986.
Dennis retired a 2nd time as a Technical Associate in February 2001 and spent almost a year playing golf every day. Then he decided to start his 3rd career and obtained a Realtor license. Over the years Dennis worked for RE/MAX and Keller Williams. He started selling real-estate on the residential side and then moved on to the commercial side. He officially retired for the 3rd time in 2018.
Dennis lost his first wife (Hatsue) to cancer in 1993. Dennis met his 2nd wife, Phyllis Andrews Wilson, in late 1993 after his co-worker, turned son-in-law (Rich Green), introduced them. Dennis and Phyllis finally tied the knot on May 30, 2014 after a 20-year courtship. Dennis was preceded in death by his daughter Cinnamon Lee Wilson. He is survived by his wife Phyllis Andrews Wilson of Brentwood, son Jerry D. Wilson of Salida (Jennifer), stepdaughter Ronda Green (Rich) of Livermore, granddaughter Ashley Maher (Jason) and great-granddaughter Violet Rose Maher of San Diego, and grandson Nicholas Green of Woodland.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on October 2, 2020 at Fry Memorial Chapel in Tracy, California (Viewing at 9:00 AM). Dennis will be laid to rest at Tracy Public Cemetery District. Due to COVID-19 social distancing and masks will be required.
