Derek Alexander Taylor

Derek Alexander Taylor, 37 years old, passed away on February 16, 2020, in San Francisco, California. Derek was born in Redwood City, California on September 23, 1983. He was one of two children born to Gene Alex Taylor and Barbara Audrey Taylor. Derek and his family resided in Union City, California for 32 years where he attended Preschool, Elementary, Junior High and High School. He and his family relocated to Tracy, California in 2014. Derek move on to San Francisco, California.
Derek worked in Manufacturing, Welding and Security. He was a member of the California State Board of Security Guards. Derek had one son, Tristian Taylor who he loved dearly.
Derek had accepted Christ in his life and became part of the Deacon Ministry at Word of the Father Church in San Francisco. He had a soft spot for kids and the elderly. He was always willing to help the seniors in any possible way. He loved NFL and NBA professional sports and playing video games, both PlayStation and X-Box. His favorite color was blue. Derek was a very private person with lots of acquaintances and few close friends. “D” as we called him, loved steak and Mexican food and wore tennis shoes that matched the colors of his outfit every day.
Derek is survived by his Mother, Barbara Taylor, Bother , Steven Taylor, Son, Tristian Taylor, Grandfather, Luchion Green, Nephews, Steven and Khalil Taylor, Aunts, Margaret Burkhalter, Kaloni Rhodan, Sadie Crosby, Linda Clayton, Tanya Taylor, Suterameya Taylor, Rhonda Green and Barbara Green.
Uncles, Orvilla Taylor, Larry Taylor, Peter Rhodan, Larry Burkhalter, John Green and Luchion Green Jr. and a host of cousins. He joins his father, Gene Taylor, Grandfather, Earvin Taylor, Grandmothers, Exie Taylor, Delores Green, Aunts, Hettie and Betty Taylor. Uncles, Bootjack and Leroy Taylor.

Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 South Central Avenue, is honored to serve the Taylor family. A Celebration of Life will be held on Derek's 37th Birthday, September 23, 2020 at 1:30 pm at Fry Memorial Chapel. Services will be live-streamed for all friends and family who are unable to attend via his tribute page at www.frymemorialchapel.com
