Dolly Silveira, 99, passed away on Thursday December 21, in Tracy Ca.
Dolly will be remembered for her loving heart, quick wit and life of service. Dolly volunteered at the Tracy Hospital for over 30 years as a "Pink Lady." She enjoyed helping all who entered the hospital and loved delivering the newspaper to all of the patients. She will be remembered by many at the hospital as a funny, caring woman who always smiled and handed out candy.
Dolly loved to bake and cook. She owned boxes and boxes of cookbooks and enjoyed writing recipes by hand while watching cooking shows. Dolly made the most amazing apple pies.
Dolly is survived by her two beloved children, Melvin (Rena) Silveira and Dolores (William) Costa; her sister Laura Borges of Gustine; her grandchildren, Joanna (Bob) Huffman, Anthony (Janice) Silveira, Judy Silveira, Steve Costa, Mark (Kevin) Costa, Alayna (Blake) Carter. She also leaves ten great-grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews she adored.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Melvin Silveira; her parents Joe and Maxine King; siblings, Joe King, John King, Marie Neely, Emillee Davis, Margaret Aksten and Lewie King.
A rosary will be held at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Avenue on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 9am followed immediately at 11:00 by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Avenue. Graveside services will be held at Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road.
