On Friday, October 27th, surrounded by her family Esperanza C. Guzman went home to Jesus.
Esperanza was born in Ontario, California on June 23, 1930 to Socorro and Consuelo Canchola. Esperanza had a big family: 6 brothers and 3 sisters which she loved very much and tried to spend as much time with as possible. She worked for Triple-E for 30 years and had many friends that she cared for. When she met Alejandro Guzman, she instantly fell in love and married him. They have been together happily for 62 years. Esperanza was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending all her time with her grandchildren. She would often take trips with her husband to the casino, but her favorite hobby was going to bingo. She went to bingo 4-5 days a week where she had fun with all of her friends.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Alejandro Guzman of Tracy, a son, George Hernandez of Stockton, 3 grandchildren: Angelica Quezada & husband and Jose of Tracy, Monica Hernandez of Stockton, and Amber McDonald of Colfax, 5 great grandchildren: Frank Rodriguez and Jessica Quezada of Tracy, Elena Hernandez Nelson-Diaz, Adriana and Reina Mendoza of Stockton, and 1 great-great grandchild: Evelyn Cazares of Stockton. She also survived by a sister and 3 brothers: Carol Haro of San Pedro, Tony Canchola of Adelanto, Frank Canchola of Stockton, and Rudy Canchola of Manteca. She Is preceded in death by her parents, Socorro and Consuelo Canchola, 2 sisters, and 3 brothers: Ortencia Canchola, Irene Rodriguez, Robert Canchola, Armando Canchola & Richard Canchola.
Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Avenue, is honored to serve the Guzman family. A Rosary will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, November 16th at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will follow on Friday, November 17th at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 165 W. Eaton Avenue. She will be laid to rest privately at Tracy Mausoleum, 8842 West Schulte Road, Tracy. A gathering will follow at the Holy Family Center on 12100 W. Valpico Road.
