Esther Cardenas Avila

Esther Avila Cardenas passed away peacefully on Monday, November 11, 2019 in Modesto, CA. Esther was born on July 9, 1943 in La Palma, Michoacán, Mexico. She was born to María de Jesús Lupian and Pablo Cardenas.
       She moved in 1961 to California with her father, Pablo Cardenas and later on the rest of her family. She worked for many years at Del Monte, got married in 1975 to Luis Avila. In 1976 she gave birth to her first son, Jesus, and in 1977 she gave birth to her daughter, Shesil. She lived in Tracy for over 30 years. Although she moved, she always remained in the Central Valley. 
       Esther enjoyed sewing, cooking and telling her stories to her grandchildren. She was a hard worker and was always driven for success. She always had a big heart and never failed to show her family how much she loved them. She was a bright woman and a wonderful sister, mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her family.
        She is survived by her daughter Shesil Avila, her four grandchildren, Jesus, Maria, Ervin, and Ixtzel, and her 3 brothers and 3 sisters. She is preceded in death by her parents, María de Jesús and Pablo, her son, Jesus, her brothers, Heliodoro and Pablo, and former husband, Luis.
   A Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Fry Memorial Chapel, with visitation hours from 3:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow on Friday, November 22, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Sepluchre Cemetery, Hayward, California.
