Evo Joseph Coelho

It is with great sadness that the family of Evo Joseph Coelho announces his passing from heart and kidney failure, complications of diabetes, on Saturday, September 1, 2018. Evo, 71, was born on April 13, 1947, in Tracy to the late Evo Gonsalves Coelho and Betty Catherine Coelho.
Evo attended Banta Elementary School and Tracy High School. In 1969, he graduated from UC Berkeley with a major in business administration and a minor in mathematics. For several years after college, he taught mathematics at junior high schools in Los Angeles. In his mid-thirties, he began to split his time between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, where he made his living playing poker. In 2002, after the death of his father, he managed the family farm business with his brother, Robert.
He enjoyed reading and long conversations. Evo will be forever missed and cherished by family and friends. He leaves behind his brother, sister-in-law Myriam, niece Lisa, and her husband Sebastian Uzategui, as well as first cousins Anna Machado Fells, Frances Machado, and Antoinette Machado.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 11, from 9:00 am to 9:30 am at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., Tracy, CA, followed by a Rosary at 9:30 am. On the same day, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am at St. Bernard’s Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave, Tracy. He will be laid to rest at Tracy Public Cemetery following the Mass.
