George Charles Miller, 88, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2023, just eight months after the death of his beloved wife of 65 years Yvonne A. Glover. George was born at home in the woods of southern Alabama in a small rural farming community called Summerdale on November 9, 1934. He was the only child of two hardworking parents who were growing a successful dairy business while George was growing up. George’s childhood included a lot of hard work where his big, strong body and quick mind were a big help on the farm. When he graduated from Foley High School in 1954, he went to Southern College in Tennessee, then to Dental School at Loma Linda University in California where he met Yvonne. They married on December 22, 1957, at the Tracy Seventh-day Adventist Church. After graduating from dental school George served in the United States Army in Denver, Colorado. They had their first child there then moved to Tracy in 1961 where George opened a thriving dental practice. They had three more children and between church, school, and family activities they kept very busy. George had a special passion for youth and helped many young people learn how to waterski. George also helped start a Pathfinder youth group in Tracy and served as Chairman of the Tracy SDA Elementary School Board for many years. And he managed all the maintenance for the SDA church and school, and served in various leadership positions in the SDA Northern California Conference. He always made a point to stay connected to people and often talked about old and new friends and what they were doing. He also knew many Tracy farmers and folks in the community through his dental practice. He was thought of affectionately as someone you could count on to get things done, and went above and beyond to make sure things were always running smoothly. George had an upbeat, warm, easy-going personality and loved hosting and being part of church social gatherings. He touched many lives with his generosity and passion for life. George was preceded in death by his father John Miller in 1959, mother Dorothy Passmore in 2007, and son Robert Miller in 1967. He is survived by his daughter Sherri Reese, son Dr. Ronald (Sheri) Miller, son Dr. Jim (Kealoha) Miller, and four grandchildren, Adam (Alana) Reese, Chelsea Miller, Duncan Miller, and Colette Miller.
