Gilberto Maldonado ,91, a resident of Manteca, was born on November 14, 1931, and sadly passed away on August 27, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Muzquiz Coahuila, Mexico. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. One of his proudest moments was when he became a US citizen in March of 2008. Gilberto lived his life with determination and dedication to be a hard-working man and taught his children the value of hard work, and the importance of family.
Gilberto committed over 76 years to the agriculture industry. He worked for 15 years at Owens Brockway and retired in 1996, he demonstrated his determination of work ethics. His commitment also shined in his personal life, where his passion was gardening, the outdoors, traveling, dancing, casino’s and was very neighborly. He loved celebrations and holidays.
Married to his beloved wife Guadalupe Maldonado for 69 years, he was an example, model and inspiration to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. They raised three sons and three daughters who inherited his work ethics.
As devoted Catholic, Gilberto participated and was involved in the Crusillo,(Retreats), was a member of the Guadalupanos, and contributed to different organizations. He enjoyed watching movies, soccer, baseball and spending time with his great-grandchildren outdoors. He was preceded in death by his father, Venancio Maldonado, mother Rosa Olguin Maldonado his siblings, Josepha Albiar, Emilio Maldonado, Aurora Perez, Olivia Perez and his son Gilbert Guadalupe Maldonado II.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife and mother of his children, Guadalupe Maldonado. His children: Jorge Maldonado (Bertha), Olga Torres, (Joe) , Aidanela Rivera,(Frank), Benancio Maldonado, AnaMaria Ramos (Victor), and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and countless nephews, nieces and cousins.
Remembered for his honesty, candor, and selflessness, His memory will continue to inspire those who loved him. His legacy will forever be in the hearts of his loved ones. A memorial will be held in his honor.

Visitation will be on September 5th from 2:00 to 9:00 pm with a Rosary beginning at 6:30 pm at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., Tracy. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 am on September 6th at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church 163 W. Eaton Ave., Tracy. He will be laid to rest at the Tracy Public Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Rd., Tracy, CA.
