Hipolita Ordonia Fontanos passed away on December 22, 2020 at the age 91. She was born on August 22nd 1929 in Agoo, La Union, Philippines. She was the youngest of five sisters. She lost her parents at a very young age and was raised by her Aunt.
At her young age, she met Cosme Soriano Fontanos who was from Bauang, La Union, Philippines. They got married and settled in a small farm in Agoo, La Union and had seven children. She worked very hard for her family to be able to support with their everyday needs. After working tirelessly, the family migrated to the US in 1978 with the help of a sister Alexandria Ordonia Casuga and settled in Yuba City, California.
In Yuba City, she and husband continued to raise their children in the US. She worked as a packer for frozen seafoods at a food company until she retired after 20 years. All the children were successful and had their own families with eighteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandkids.
After retirement, she enjoyed looking after her grandkids. Every year she enjoyed celebrating her birthday at the backyard with family and friends. She loves playing card games with her friends. Most of the time she would love going to casinos with friends and love to bet with the table card game (Black Jack).
In the last 3 years she lived in a care home in Tracy, California close to her two oldest daughters. She was preceded in death by her husband who died in 2012.
Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 South Central Avenue, is in care of funeral arrangements. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 4th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, with a Recitation of the Rosary at 4:30 pm. She will be laid to rest privately with her husband at the Sutter Cemetery District, Sutter, CA.
