Irene Zavala Ruiz

Irene Zavala Ruiz, 89, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2021. A 52 year resident of Tracy, Irene was born in San Ciro San, Luis Potosi, Mexico on March 26, 1932 to the late Pedro Zavala and Aurelia Chaires.

Irene was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband Blas Ruiz and daughter Socorro Ruiz and leaves behind a devoted family; Carmen Aguilar, Roberto Ruiz and wife Blanca, Salvador Ruiz, Gonzalo Ruiz, Juana Leon and husband Ignacio, Jorge Ruiz, Margarita Ruiz Lum and husband Steve, Martha Ruiz, Blas Ruiz, and Enrique Zuniga and wife Sonia. She was blessed with 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Mom was blessed with having a strong faith in God and was a devout Catholic all of her life. She had many roles, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She took great delight in her gardens and the outdoors finding God in all things. She always expressed her amazement of how good a life God gave her.

We will be forever grateful to God for sharing her with us and she will never be forgotten by her family.

Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 South Central Avenue, Tracy, is honored to serve the Ruiz Family. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 West Eaton Avenue, Tracy. She will be laid to rest at the Tracy Public Cemetery, 501 East Schulte Road, Tracy.
