Isabel Ramirez longtime resident died in her sleep on Thursday, August 23, 2018. She was 99 years old.
She was proceeded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Julian O. Ramirez Sr., father Anastacio Ortega, mother Rita Ortega Gutierrez, and her stepfather Ray Gutierrez. Brothers and sisters: Mary (Vincent) Reynoso, Delfino (Consuelo) Ortega, Joe (Sally) Ortega, Rosie Martinez, Vero (Nick) Lucero, and Ray Ortega; brother-in-law Joe Valerio, sister-in-law Connie Ortega, daughter-in-law Lucy Ramirez, and great-grandson Santino Perez. She is survived by her children: Julian Ramirez Jr. of Fresno, CA, Simon Ramirez of Tracy, CA, Lydia Quintana (Rudy) of Stockton, CA, Edward Ramirez (Alicia) of Linden, CA, Linda Welch (Greg) of Tracy, CA, Dolores Pimentel (David) of Tracy, CA, Paul Ramirez (Virgie) of Tracy, CA, and her step-daughter Carmen Moreno (Henry) of Newport Beach, CA. Isabel is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren, her siblings Lupe Valerio, Pete Ortega, Jess Gutierrez, Bobby Gutierrez, Ramona Solorio (Alfred) and sister-in-law Lupe Ortega.
Isabel was born in Sanger, California on November 5, 1918. She was very strong in her faith and loved going to 10 a.m. Mass at St. Bernard’s Church on Sundays followed by breakfast at Perko’s and enjoyed running into old friends.
Isabel was passionate about her garden, planting and watching her garden bloom was one of her joys up until her last days.
She loved spending time with her family and will be dearly missed by all.
In her own words: She lived 99 wonderful years, she had people waiting for her, her husband, her mom, dad, brother’s, sister and so many waiting for her to dance. If the Lord wants me, I’m ready. On Thursday, August 23rd the Lord took her home to dance.
Visitation for Isabel will be held at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 South Central Ave., on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass for Christian Burial will be held at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside services will immediately follow at Tracy Public Cemetery.
