Jackie passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, April 2. A Tracy resident for over 80 years, Jackie was the oldest of eight children.
Jackie graduated from Tracy High School, where he excelled in track and field, and Modesto Junior College. He served two years in the U. S. Army and worked for San Joaquin County where he retired after more than 35 years.
Jackie was a member of Tracy Men's Bowling Association and Tracy Wildlife Association. His hobbies included bowling, fishing, and playing cards with family and friends. He also loved to read.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Peggy Stewart, of Tracy; his daughter JoAnn (Travis) Pounds of Mesa Arizona; four sisters: Lorena Durham and Lois Rehn of Tracy, Linda Lewis of Livermore and Denise Moralez of Elk Grove; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jackie was preceded in death by his parents Lambert (Jack) and Edith Stewart and brothers Raymond (Keith), David and Michael Stewart.
Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 South Central Avenue is honored to serve the Stewart family. Private services will be held at a later date.
