James P. Dani

James (Jim) Dani has passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2018, at the age of 89. Jim was born January 25, 1929, in French Camp, Ca. He lived in Tracy, Ca., all of his life, graduating from Jefferson Elementary School and Tracy Joint Union High School. He worked at the Ford Garage and Alaska Dairy and retired from Guardian Life Insurance Co. In addition, he had many part-time sources of income, including selling encyclopedias and vacuum cleaners. Jim had boundless energy and was always volunteering to help his friends and contribute his spare time to the many clubs of which he was a member, including Tracy Breakfast Lions, Tracy Chamber of Commerce, Tracy Elks, Tracy Moose and St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, where he attended Mass and was active in many of their festivities and projects.

Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Betty J. Dani, as well as his mother, Dora Bromell, and a brother, Charles Dani.

He is survived by his daughter, Janelle Colborn and son-in-law Ronald Colborn of Coquille, OR; his son, Gregory Dani and daughter-in-law Wanda Dani of Sutter Creek, CA; four grandchildren, Abigail Guinn (Jon Stewart) of El Cerrito, CA, Jeffrey Guinn of Antioch, CA, Ericka Cazadd (Josh Cazadd) of Sutter Creek, CA, and Nicholas Dani (Nicole Dani) of Sacramento, CA; and four great-grandchildren, Shelby Stewart, Alexa Cazadd, Rory Dani and Merrick Cazadd.

He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a Rosary at 7 p.m. at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., Tracy. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, 10:30 a.m., at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 E. Eaton Ave., Tracy with burial to follow at Tracy Public Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Rd., Tracy.
