Javier Alvarez

Javier Alvarez, 56, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2019 in a battle with kidney cancer. Javier was born in Mexico, but spent a majority of his life in the Tracy, CA. He attended Central School and later graduated from Tracy High in 1981. After high school, Javier went on to pursue his passion as an automotive mechanic and attended school in Arizona. He then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps for two terms and left for Camp Lejeune. While in the military, Javier serviced and maintained military-operated land vehicles and ensured quality performance. He then took the offer to travel overseas to various countries and locations. While in North Carolina, he met the love of his life, Maria M Alvarez, and together they got married on March 16th, 1988 and had two children. Javier was honorably discharged and moved back to his hometown to raise his family and had three more children. For 24 years, Javier worked at Mars Petcare (formerly known as Doane Pet Care) in various positions and stayed as a skilled forklift operator. Outside of work, he attended mass regularly as a catholic, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, working out at the gym and at home, and didn’t mind the occasional visit to the casino with his wife and friends. But most of all, he loved spending quality time with his family. Afterall, Family was everything to him and he made sure of it by providing their every need with an intent to them up for the independent world. After the Mars Petcare Tracy facility had shut down, Javier was hired to be a part sanitation at DSC Logistics. In June of 2018, Javier was diagnosed with stage 4 renal cancer. After months of chemotherapy, radiation, surgeries to drain excess fluid from his heart and lungs, and many ER visits, it was determined in January 2019 that Javier’s health was terminal and rapidly declining. He is survived by his wife Maria, his three daughters: Maricela, Josefina, and Angelica; as well as his two sons: Daniel and Jacob.
A Rosary will be held at Fry Memorial Chapel on Monday, April 29, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. with visitation hours from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Tuesday, April 29, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Tracy Public Cemetery.
