Kashmir Kaur Basra, 90,
passed away October 18, 2020 with her family by her side in Livermore, CA.
Kashmir, warmingly known as Biji, was born February 2, 1930 in Multan, Pakistan to her Father Rajinder Singh and Mother Tajj Kaur. She moved to Phagwara, Punjab by foot after the 1947 partition with her husband,
Late Santokh Singh Basra.
In 1980 they relocated to Surrey, Canada.
Biji had a strong drive which she dedicated to family, gardening, sewing, cooking, and working hard. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to her family.
Mrs. Basra is survived by her two sisters and one brother. Her five children, sons Baldev and Onkar Basra; daughters Malkiat Dulay, Jagdish Uppal, Paramjit Bains; her daughter-in-laws Nachatar Basra and Gurjit Basra. Fifteen Grandchildren and nineteen Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her Husband Late Santokh Singh Basra.
Traditional Sikh services will be held at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 South Central Avenue, Tracy on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at 10:30 am. The prayer service will be live-streamed via Ms. Basra’s tribute page.
