Lawrence G. Smith

Lawrence G. Smith, 74, who retired from the Fremont fire department as a captain after 25 years, passed Monday, December 10, 2018. He was born May 22, 1944 in Oakland, California to the late William & Irene Smith.
He leaves behind a loving & devoted family; wife Helen; daughter Erika Johnson and son Richard Smith & wife Vickie of Dublin; along with his grandchildren & numerous other family and friends.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave. He will be laid to rest privately in Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon. Arrangements will be handled by Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave.
