Tribute

A Mass will be held March 24th at 10 am at The Cathedral of the Annunciation in Stockton for Lindy Bert Bacchetti, 88, a Tracy resident for over eight decades. He died at home on March 5th, 2023.
Born on April 21, 1934, in Loleta, Humbolt County, CA, he was the son of Joseph and Mary Bacchetti. In 1941 his family moved to Tracy to run a dairy.
Lindy graduated from Tracy High School in 1952, and soon thereafter joined the army and served from 1956-1958, attending aviation school at Camp Rucker, Alabama, working on fixed wing planes and helicopters. After serving in the military, Lindy worked on the family dairy with his father and brother until October of 1960.
At that time, he and his partner Frank Coelho, bought a local business and started the long-time Tracy tractor and parts business, C & B Equipment Co. They operated C & B Equipment Co. for 40 years, becoming a local fixture in Tracy farming. He continued to sell farm equipment as LBB Enterprises and farmed until his death.
On September 21, 1958 Lindy married Marie Bertuccelli. They were married for 57 years and had 3 daughters, Paula Fagundes (Ron), Karen Bacchetti, and Carla Bacchetti Payne (Steve). Lindy enjoyed going out to Saturday dinners, driving around the ranch, and meeting his friends for coffee.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Marie, his brother Frank and his parents.
He is survived by his children and their spouses and his many loving grandchildren Darrin Fagundes and his wife Jill, Melissa Masquelier and her husband Joe, Samuel and Skylar Payne, and Bianca Bacchetti Garcia. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Aiden, Emerson, Quinn and Parker. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren will greatly miss his yearly deliveries of Halloween Pumpkins and Saturday night dinners at Papa’s House.
He will be greatly missed by his family, though they take comfort knowing that he will be reunited with his wife in Heaven.
The family would like to thank the Tracy Police Department and Emergency Responders for their kindness and professionalism in a very trying time. In observance of Lent, the family asks for donations to St. Jude’s Hospital in lieu of flowers.
Interment and reception are private.
