Mark Votaw

Mark Anthony Votaw, 41, of longtime resident of San Joaquin County, living his last year of life in Stockton, California, where he and his family owned their very first home. Mark passed away suddenly in Manteca, California on Monday, April 24, 2017 in the Emergency Room of Kaiser hospital.

Mark was born on May 25th, 1975, in Tracy, California to parents Henry and Sharon Votaw. Mark is survived by his wife Jennifer Lynn Votaw and son Mark Anthony Votaw Jr. He is also survived by his mother Sharon Fay Votaw, brothers Henry “Skeet” Votaw and Jeffrey Votaw, Uncles Vernon and Steven, Aunts Bobbie, Ruth, Marsha and Judy, many cousins all living in Tracy and surrounding areas. Mark was preceded in death by his father Henry Bruce Votaw.

Mark graduated from Tracy High School and went on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree, specializing in Management and Information Systems from the University of Pacific last May. Mark was the first in his family to graduate from college and was an inspiration to his family. He was excited and eager to look further into his education and was considering an undergraduate program. He was married to Jennifer on March 31, 2012 in Monterey, California and has a son Mark Anthony Votaw Jr. age 6 and step daughter Madeline Marie age 19. Mark and Jennifer enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, especially Yosemite National Park and camping on the ocean. Mark also enjoyed spending time with his mother Sharon. Mark was a motorcycle enthusiast and took pride in restoring his father’s Harley Davidson and riding with his friends and family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Fry Memorial Chapel.
