Mary Louise Serrato

Mary Louise Serrato, 70, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2022 peacefully surrounded by her family. Mary was born on October 8, 1951 in Wharton, TX to Alonzo and Guadalupe Longoria. She was united in marriage to William Serrato on June 15, 1968. Mary, a devout Catholic, was a lifelong member of the St. Bernard’s Parish in Tracy, CA. She worked for over 30 years as an educator for the Tracy Unified School District. Mary was a loving, kind, and generous spirit. She truly was a master artist of life; everything she touched was better and more beautiful. She loved camping, gardening, traveling, and interior decorating. Her life centered around her strong faith and unwavering commitment to her family.


Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo and Guadalupe Longoria. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, William Serrato of Tracy, CA; children, David & Gina Escobar of Ripon, CA; William Serrato Jr. of San Diego, CA; Michael & Cheryll Serrato of Tracy, CA; Ronnie Serrato & Clayton Terry of Tracy, CA; Chris & Jennifer Serrato of Pleasanton, CA; ten grandchildren, Blake (Ashlynn), Austin (Alyssa), Tyler, Jacob, Brianna, Samantha, Chloe, Lainey, Noah & Chanel and her two great-grandchildren, Audrey and Riley. Mary is also survived by her four brothers, Alonzo Longoria Jr., Jesse Longoria, Oscar Longoria, Ronnie Longoria, sister Nancy Longoria-Vargas, and many nieces, nephews and friends. 

A visitation will be held at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 South Central Avenue, Tracy, California, on Monday, July 11, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Eulogy Service beginning at 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 165 W Eaton Avenue, Tracy, California. Graveside services will follow Mass at the Tracy Public Cemetery, 501 E Schulte Road, Tracy, California. 

Arrangements are under the care of Fry Memorial Chapel 550 S. Central Ave. Tracy, CA 95376. Services will be live-streamed at https://www.frymemorialchapel.com/tributes/Mary-Serrato via her tribute page for those unable to attend.
