Orlanda Elaine Lucero, known to all as “Lolly”, was born on June 1, 1964 to Rita Jaramillo and Gilbert Lucero in Las Vegas, NM. She relocated to Oakland, Ca with her mother in 1966 where she attended E. Morris Cox Elementary and Elmhurst Junior High. She later received her GED and worked as a CNA in Castro Valley.
She lived in Berkeley, Ca with her common law husband Jerry Scott for 30 years where she worked as a cook at her neighborhood church. She was very loving and extremely funny. She loved to joke and reminisce about the past. She was known for her sarcasm and catch phrases… “ Boring!!! “ Her contagious laugh and magnetic personality will be missed.
Lolly is preceded in death by her father Gilbert Levi Lucero and 2 brothers Gilbert Fernando Lucero and Frank Rudy Esquibel. She is survived by her mother Rita Nielsen, her husband Jerry Scott, 4 siblings Anthony Esquibel, Juanita Lucero, Gayla Lucero and Pamela Medina. 5 daughters, Angela Mangabay, Monica Jackson, Dezirae Murphy, Selina Silva and Nena Silva. 9 grandchildren, Elijah Mangabay, Tatyana Jackson, Angelo Mangaby, Nylah Hunter, Layah Jefferson, Sirvon Jefferson, Josiyah Jefferson, Elliyannah Jefferson, Stanley Kirk Burrell lll and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
