Paulette Sue “McCune” Thomsen, 75 entered into rest peacefully at her home on May 4th, 2019 after a 3 year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on January 9, 1944 in Denver, Colorado to Paul & Mildred McCune. When her father completed his service in the military they moved to California. She graduated from Livermore High class of 1961, she is still friends with many of her classmates. She met the love of her life Kenneth James Thomsen in 1962 on a blind date. They married on February 16, 1964 in Nevada. They lived in Livermore where she worked at the Livermore Laboratory until the birth of their first child. In 1966, they then moved to Tracy to the family farm. Together they had three beautiful children, Kimberly Sue, Jamie Christine, and Kristin James. Paulette was loved by everyone that was blessed enough to know her.  She found great joy in being a mother, grandmother, and “GG” She loved her family and friends and her dog, Lady. She enjoyed many things, she was a very active mother involved in PTA at New Jerusalem Elementary School, a 4H leader, worked at El Soylo water district and she was active as a deacon, elder, and treasurer for First Presbyterian Church. She was a bookkeeper for Thomsen Farms. Her favorite activities include traveling, road trips, gardening, hiking, bowling, golfing, knitting, sewing, quilting, shopping and antiquing. She had a deep love of country music, also a love for National Parks and was determined to visit them all, Yellowstone was one of her favorites. Some of her favorite travels were to her father’s family farm in Kenton Ohio. She loved all of Mother Nature’s beauty. She is survived by her husband Kenneth of 55 years, her children Kimberly Thomsen Guillen, Jamie Thomsen, Kristin Thomsen and wife Tracy. Her Grandchildren Amber Guillen-Alvarez, Robert Ontiveros, Larissa Guillen, Taylor Thomsen, Ty Guillen, Wyatt Henricus, Krista Thomsen, Timothy Thomsen, and Kendyl Thomsen. Great Grandchildren Aubrey and Jessie James Ontiveros. Siblings Michael McCune, Patrick McCune (Brenda), LouAnn McCune-Lull (Lowell) and Carolyn McCune-Bortz. Sister in Laws Inge McCune and Kathy Thomsen and Brother in Law Allen Thomsen and wife Mary. Several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her Parents Paul and Millie, Brother Kenneth McCune and son in law Robert (Bob) Henricus. Also her in laws Sigurd and Ruth Thomsen, brother in laws Gerald (Jerry) Thomsen and Thomas Thomsen. She will be truly missed by all that loved her. You will always be our sunshine. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 16 from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550. S. Central Ave, Tracy, Ca. Funeral Service will be held on Friday May 17 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 101 Berverdor Ave Tracy, Ca with a reception to follow. In Lieu of Flowers, please make a Memorial Donation to the American Cancer Society or Tracy Interfaith Ministries.
