Richard Henry Cuevas, Sr. passed away January 2, 2018 at the age of 67 in his home in Patterson, California. He was born in San Francisco, and later moved to Santa Clara, then San Jose, and finally to Patterson.
Richard worked as a Union Shop Steward for the United States Postal Service for 18 years in Cupertino, and most recently as Security at the Frontier Club in Patterson. He was a devout Oakland Raider fan, loved watching them play and attending games with family and friends. Richard will forever be remembered as having a huge heart and his crazy sense of humor. He was always there to listen, give advice and make you laugh. “Always be a leader, not a follower” were his words of wisdom we will never forget.
Richard is survived by his sons Richard Cuevas, Jr. and Michael Cuevas; daughter Lisa Jacquez and son-in-law Sal Jacquez; grandchildren Salvadore and Alyssa Jacquez, Ricky, Nico and CJ Cuevas; brothers Edward and Bobby Cuevas, Pat, Daniel “Lucky”, Mike and Steve Vegas; sisters Diana Cuevas Jimenez and Vickie Vegas; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Edward Cuevas, mother Martha “Marty” Vegas, stepfather Daniel “Pops”
Vegas, brothers Rudy Cuevas and Arthur Cuevas, and sisters Linda Cuevas Trujillo and LeAnn Vegas.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 South Central
Avenue, Tracy, California. Reception to follow at Banta Inn, 22563 S 7th Street,
