Tribute

God has called his child home. Richard James Francesconi born January 22, 1959 in San Francisco passed on April 20,2021 in Tracy, California. “Rick” leaves behind a legacy of fond memories. With a passion for all things technological, Rick enjoyed Robot Battlebots, computers, and car racing. Rick was also the Family’s Master Chef who would sample a bite then casually oops one for Kobi whom he would take for long walks in the evening. Rick was a connoisseur of the finer things in life so of course he loved his 49er football.
Rick graduated San Carlos High Class of 1977. He then went on to earn industry-based certificates from several trade schools over the course of 44-year career. Rich, as he is known around the lab, is held in high regard by his coworkers at Carl Zeiss Meditec where he was a Senior Technician.
As a consummate patron of the Art’s, Rick loved live music with his Family. Looking back through the years, there are too many concerts to count. However, one in particular stands out, Santana. Rick felt the percussionist were phenomenal as they wandered down from the stage into the audience to perform.
Tracy’s Grande Theatre was yet another favorite of Rick’s and one of his most enjoyed performances was, House of Floyd. Rick saw this production many times.
Rick traveled the World making Friends wherever he went. Chosen Family in Australia, Germany, and Italy are sure to remember Rick’s laughter and occasional joke over drinks and good food. Friends really are the Family we choose. Rick’s life was filled with an abundance of Family.
Rick met, courted, then married the love of his life Valerie Francesconi, on Valentine’s Day 1981 in Stateline, Nevada. As a husband Rick cherished his wife Valerie and was dedicated to taking care of her and his Family. With Rick, it was always Family first as he lived to love and be loved.
Rick is also survived by his children, Emily Haley, Candace Francesconi, and James Richardson. Grandchildren, Alice Haley, Sofia Haley, Alexandra Epperson, Joshua Epperson, Katie Black, and Zack Black. Great Grandchildren, Kiara Girard, and Liam Girard.
