Robert Francis Hermesky Jr

July 16, 1954 ~ April 17, 2020 (age 65) 65 Years Old

Tribute

Robert F. Hermesky (Bob), 65, passed away on April 17, 2020, in the comfort of his home in Manteca under hospice care.

Bob was born on July 16, 1954, to Robert and Pauline Hermesky in Reno, Nevada. “Little Bob” was industrious at a very young age managing a paper route and pumping gas for extra cash. He competed in amateur roller skating championships and even learned to play the accordion in his youth.

Bob easily mastered the plumbing trade and managed many commercial projects. He was in the trade for 42 years. His last employer prior to retirement in 2019 was Ray L. Hellwig Plumbing and Heating, Inc. in Santa Clara. His aptitude for mechanical engineering without a degree was uncanny.

Bob had many interests including flat track racing, Yamaha motorcycles, Nascar racing, cooking and cruising to exotic locations. He was a devoted father and grandfather who cherished his family. There’s nothing he wouldn’t do for them.

In 1997, Bob met the love of his life, Elise, in Tracy and married her a year later. They made their home in Tracy and together made many wonderful friends and memories. They adopted three cats that he absolutely loved. In preparation for retirement and to be closer to his son and family, they moved to Manteca in 2016.

Bob will be deeply missed by Elise, his wife of 22 years. He also leaves behind his son, Justin Hermesky (Angela), daughter, Channa Wilson (Patrick), stepson, Jeff Bastian (Kara) and stepdaughter, Lisette Hart (Sean). He is also survived by grandchildren, Cameron, AJ, De’Angelo and Dajia Hermesky, as well as Jake and Kamia Bastian, Rhett Hart, Jazmine and Saffy Bland. Also surviving Bob are sister, Kathy Leonard (Craig) of Arizona, brother, John Leipold (June) of Nevada and sister-in-law Barbara Hermesky of Nevada.

There will be a public viewing for family and friends from noon until 5pm on Monday, April 27, 2020 at Fry Memorial Chapel in Tracy located at 550 S. Central Ave.
We ask that social distancing rules be followed. A private graveside burial will take place the following day. There will be a Celebration of Life honoring Bob at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions made to your charity of choice.
