Rudy was born on March 13, 1965 in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. He obtained his degree in Doctor of Medicine at the University of Sto. Tomas in 1989. He had his residency at the Makati Medical Center, where he was Chief Resident of Emergency Medicine.

He was a devoted son, a supportive brother, a father figure and “cool uncle” to his nephews and nieces, and a doctor who cared deeply for his patients. He was known for his charm and inimitable sense of humor.
He was a devout Catholic and active member of St. Bernard’s Parish. Rodrigo was an artist at heart. He was an avid musical theater -and play-goer. New York was his favorite destination. Another passion was photography. He meticulously documented everything: holidays, family events, milestones, even everyday moments. He also had a keen eye for modern art.
To everyone who encountered him throughout his life, Rodrigo was an inspiration and a good-natured man known for his megawatt smile and generous heart. His family and friends from all over the world will truly miss him.
