Rosalie Elizabeth Gomes

Rosalie Elizabeth (Machado) Gomes passed away on July 7, at the age of 87. Daughter of Daniel and Maria Machado, she was born and raised in Modesto, California. In 1948, she married the love of her life, John Gomes of Tracy, California. Her greatest joy in life were her children and grandchildren. She loved to bake for friends and family. She was known for her apricot pies and biscotti. She loved to spend her days working in the garden and gave away most of what she grew.
Rosalie is preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, John Gomes; her parents, Daniel and Maria Machado; and her brother, Joe Machado.
Rosalie is survived and will be greatly missed by her son, John and his wife, Nazmeen; son, Danny; and daughter, Marie and her husband, Gary. She was a cherished grandmother to two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Astoria Gardens and Life Springs Hospice for the kind and compassionate care that was given to Rosalie.
Fry Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Gomes family.
In honor of her wishes, there will be a private burial at Tracy Public Cemetery where Rosalie will be laid to rest with her husband.
