Steven Barringer was born in San Mateo, California on November 4, 1982 and passed away on January 18, 2024 in Tracy, California.
In 1992, his family moved from San Mateo to Tracy, where Steven went on to graduate from West High school in 2001.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents, William and Patricia Barringer. He is survived by his Brother Brian (Sarah) Barringer, Fiancé Samantha McGonigle, three Children Jay, Tommy and Warren, Nephews Andrew and Owen Barringer.
His passion for the outdoors began when he was a young boy as a Boy Scout, camping and fishing with his family at Pinecrest and Beardsley. Steven worked his way through the scouting ranks from Cub Scout to Eagle Scout. Earning the Eagle Scout Special Congressional Recognition in 1999.
Steven always had a talent for working with his hands and construction. In 2013, he became a general contractor and started his company Barringer Construction.
Samantha and Steven met in high school and fell in love during the summer of 2011. He officially asked her to become his wife on Thanksgiving 2023 at sunset.
Steven was an amazing father with so much love for his children. He had a passion for cooking and sharing meals around a dinner table or campfire with his family and friends. He especially loved making sourdough bread, tamales and pizza.
His hobbies included hiking, hunting, fishing, spending time with his kids and nephews, doing his best to share and teach them about his love for the outdoors. Steven and his brother Brian shared a secret code and spent most visits and calls laughing and joking about things that they only knew.
If he wasn't already in a fishing boat, driving on a dirt road or hunting, he was making plans to do one of those things. Some of his favorite places were the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range, his hunting spot in Wyoming, and anywhere with Samantha, family and friends.
He was a brother to many, friend to all.
