Tribute

Walter C. Williamson born January 8th, 1925 in Weed California died peacefully at his home on Nov. 4, 2019. He is survived by his wife Betty of 72 years, his sons Greg Williamson and his wife Rene, Steve Williamson and his wife Karen, his sister Jeannie Moser of Napa and Brother Neil Dollarhide of New Hampshire. Also, grandchildren Kim Williamson, Jason Williamson, Toli Williamson, Jordan Cox and Noah Cox and great grandchild Captain Cordova. He was preceded in death by a sister Dorothy Berg of Lodi and Donald Dollarhide of Stockton.
After his family moved from Weed, Walter attended Stockton High School and while there he enlisted in the Navy June of 1942. He served during WWII in the South Pacific and was honorably discharged in February 1946.
He returned to Stockton, CA and met his wife Betty Boltzen in February of 1947. They were married in November of 1947 and would have celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary on November 16, 2019.
Walter was employed by the U.S Government as a lieutenant of security at the Naval Annex at Rough and Ready Island in Stockton, CA. In August 1948 Walter left his job with the government to take over the family ranch in Vernalis, CA. Walter took care of the family ranch with his sons for over 40 years before retiring in 1988.
Walter was a founding member of the Rhodes Benn & Supply Warehouse, and was also a member of the S.J Hay Growers Association, Tracy Golf & CC, Farm Bureau Association, Elks Lodge and a Board of Director of the New Jerusalem Drainage District.
He enjoyed Farming and his family, especially watching his sons play sports, Tournament Bridge and Flying.

The family will be holding a Celebration of Life at the Tracy Golf and Country Club located at 35200 S. Chrisman Rd, Tracy, CA 95377 on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 beginning at 2:00pm.
