Carole Jean Rueb was born on May 13, 1934 in Sidney Nebraska and entered into eternal rest
on October 24, 2017 in Tracy California. She and her family moved to Tracy California in 1936.
Carole attended West Park School and graduated from Tracy High School in 1952. She
excelled and graduated with honors. Carole attended a secretarial program at Humphreys
Business College. She worked at DVI until she left work to raise her children. She reentered
the workforce in 1976 and worked as a secretary at Tracy Unified School District. She began
working for Tracy Defense Depot in 1979. Over the next 18 years she transferred between
Sharpe Depot and Tracy Defense Depot and then retired in 1997.
Carole married Gideon (Spike) Rueb in 1956 and they had two daughters. She was a Charter
Member of the Covenant Church in Tracy. She later joined and devoted 47 years to the First
Assembly of God church now known as Tracy Community Church. Carole enjoyed leather
tooling, crocheting, knitting, and many other crafts. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed
spending time with family and friends.
Carole was preceded in death by her husband, Gideon Rueb, her parents Robert and Mable
Morris and her sister Betty Hopwood. She survived by her daughters and son in laws, Diane
and Kelly Bird of Oakdale, Wanda and James Lenhardt of Tracy, her grandchildren Matthew
Bird of Santa Barbara, Beth Lenhardt Simpson and Robert Simpson of Manteca, Charity
Lenhardt of Stockton, and one great granddaughter, Chloe Simpson of Manteca.
Fry Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Rueb family. Services will be held at Tracy Community Church on Saturday October 28, 2017, 9:00 am with a graveside service to follow at Tracy Public Cemetery.
