Jayda Nicole Baumgartner-Jenkins

June 30, 1998 ~ February 23, 2017 (age 18) 18 Years Old
Jayda Nicole Baumgartner Jenkins, born June 30, 1998, in San Jose, California went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the young age of 18. Jayda’s life would seem too short to many, but those that were touched by her undeniable Spirit understand that quality far exceeds quantity.  Jayda was a beautiful, strong spirited, intelligent young lady whose smile will be missed by all.  She was vibrant and her tenacity was seen on the softball field, as well as off it. If you met Jayda you were instantly drawn to her because of her love of life.  She loved her family, friends, and those she would meet.  Her love for people was evident when she decided to pursue a career as a Social Worker.  She had completed her first semester at William Jessup University in Rocklin, California.  She was focused on her goals and dreams.  Many tell of the stories of how she had made an impact and was selfless in her acts of kindness, always lending a helping hand and an open ear to those in need.  Jayda’s spirit was one to inspire positivity and hope in others.  We were all very proud of her journey.   We will miss her tremendously, but we can also rest assured she is looking down, cheering us on, “that we can get through it”.  I remember the day Jayda came home from the hospital, her mama had to be carried up the stairs because she was in so much pain from the birth, in contrast to a painful birth she brought so much joy to Denielle and CJ, she was the center of their lives.  Many wonderful memories have been made and those memories will carry us and we can hold her dear in our hearts.  Times spent with family, and friends, holidays, her softball games, spending time at our favorite lake (our spot).   Those her favorite times she spent, laughing, hiking, making jokes, and being scared by an occasional cub bear or enjoying the company of deer.  You all have your favorite stories you will and hold dear to your heart.     As we remember Jayda we must remind others that her life is one to be celebrated.  Although we will miss her everyday she will remain in our hearts every day. Jayda is survived by her loving parents, CJ & Denielle; her awesome sister Aaliyah, grandparents, and a host of aunt’s, uncle’s, & cousin’s. She was predeceased by Margaret Wyche, great-grandmother; Virginia Baumgartner, grandmother; Floyd Gilmore, grandfather; Denise Gilmore, aunt; Robin Irene Coleman, aunt; Eddie Porter, uncle; William Gilmore, uncle.
