Virginia Adlene Gaines

Virginia Adlene (Matthews) Gaines passed away on June 29 in Tracy. She was a resident of Tracy for 72 years. Virginia is preceded in death by her husband Virgil Gaines, and son Curtis Gaines as well as siblings Dwane, Leonard and Lawrence Matthew and Elaine Sannes. She is survived by her daughters Glenda Olivarez of Lathrop and Lisa Acosta of Jackson; grandchildren Dwane Gaines of Galt, Christina Gaines of Oregon, Melissa, Frank and Gabriel Olivarez of Lathrop and Andrew and Shawn Acosta of Jackson, and seven great-grandchildren. Virginia also leaves behind her siblings Fines Matthews of Linden, TX, Bertie Posten of Statesville, NC, Quincy Matthews of Springfield, OR, Loretta Gibson of Payson, AZ, and Jimmy Matthews of Redding.

She was a loving wife, and mother, known for her kindness. Virginia was a devout member of the SDA church for 55 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing and gardening.
