March 7, 1931 ~ August 14, 2017 (age 86) 86 Years Old
William (Bill) Lee Griffith, 86, passed away with his family around him on August 14, 2017. He was born to Buford and Bessie Griffith on March 7, 1931 in Missouri and moved to Tracy, California when he was two with extended family. He always described the trip as being just like “The Grapes of Wrath.”

He attended Naglee School and Tracy High School where he met the love of his life Gloria Huck. They were married on July 16, 1950 and were married sixty-five years before her passing in 2015. He went to work on the family farm and became a partner of HHG Farms. He loved farming and continued to farm for over forty-five years. He also served in the Korean War as a mechanic and was very proud to serve his county. Later he became a partner of Old Douglas Market Restaurant in Tracy for fifteen years from 1981 – 1996. Throughout his life Bill was involved in different organizations in town including a Commander at VFW and a member of the Elks Lodge.

Bill was a very humble man who always had a smile on his face. He was a friend to many and loved by his family. He was deeply proud of his family and so happy that everyone was accomplishing their dreams. He enjoyed his daily ride to “The Ranch” (his family’s property) and stopping by Country Market for his scratchers and cigarettes.

Bill is survived by his three children, Larry (Pam) Griffith, Linda (Greg) Pombo, and Janet Gregory; grandchildren Larry (Courtney) Griffith, Ryan (Alisha) Griffith, Kyle (Monica) Ferrulli, Kristen Ferrulli, Vanessa (Jason) Saenz, Nathan Pombo, Jordan Pombo, Alyssa (Jeremy Hensley) Gregory, Shelby Gregory, and Kaitlin Gregory; great grandchildren, Sierra Griffith, Cheyanne Griffith, Dakota Griffith, Mason Ferrulli, Kelcie Ferrulli, Aaliyah Garcia, Maddix Severson, Avery Saenz, and many nieces and nephews.
