Dear Stephanie,
I was so shaken to read of your mother's death. I got the information too late to attend the service. Your mother was certainly a special and talented lady.
We enjoyed being neighbors in Sherwood Forest, Modesto, California. We have good memories of those years.
I pray God's comfort and blessings for you in this time of loss.
Sincerely,
Berma Lynn Blomquist

For Matthew, Stefani, and families-
Lucia was such a dear friend to me while you were at Sherwood Elementary School with our children, Hank and Molly. She gave me a cooking lesson (which did not help my culinary skills, even though she tried) and helped me understand our exchange student from Italy when Hank was in high school. Lucia's heart was truly twice as big as it should have been but she used that extra heart to bring love and laughter to all she met. I can see her dancing with David in heaven. Prayers are being sent to you both.

My cousin Lucia was an amazing woman in many ways. She was instrumental in getting me married off to my husband of 33 years (Mike). She not only hosted our wedding reception but I think she was the first one to bring up the subject of marriage to the both of us! ;op I lost contact with Lucia and never really expressed just how much I appreciated her. I often wondered where she was living and wished I could have/would have reached out to her. I hardly knew Matthew and Stefani as they were so young and I was starting a family of my own. My heart goes out to them both and to their families. As a hospice nurse of many years, I can well imagine that last journey with their mother. I bid you all peace.

I knew Lucia as a wonderful mother, and good neighbor and a friend. I was saddened to see that she had died. She was a wonderful woman and I was so interested to read the obituary, which told so much more about here life and interests.

Lucia, carissima mia,
We have shared both the darkest and the happiest moments of our lives. Distance and circumstances may have separated us over the years, but the bond of love and affection which has always existed between us has always stood the test of time. Time and space matter not. Va tutto bene , Lucia, ci rivedremo, sorella mia.

Throughout your life you have crossed many deserts but you have always found a way to create an oasis for those who were close to you. From your heart always sprang a generosity w hitch allowed you to overcome all difficulties and a tenderness which allowed you to enter even where there were locks and chains. You have reminded us to find strength in forgiveness, hope in our battles, and love in our discord. Your smile knew how to hide every sadness and every morning you thanked God for the miracle that is life. It is for this reason that you were and always will be with us.
