I'm very sorry to learn about this now, as he was my uncle Bob. Especially since I had the internet at my diposal, it's only recently that I've even thought of using it to find a family member. I last spoke to him via telephone some 17 years ago and talked about a possible visit, however, it never happened though I wish it had. My father, Charles jr. would have liked to know my intentions were true as communication was never one of my strong points & only became close to him shortly before his untimely passing in 1982. I still think about him and now more than ever wish I had visited uncle Bob, there were many questions unanswered I'd hoped to learn from him as the last of those who could bring some closure about his brother & my father. I'm confident I'll see them both again when my time here also expires. Until that day, I love you both, Charles Jefferson Lane III. PS. Since I can not leave an email address due to this page insisting that there is an error in my spelling of my email address I will leave it here, ... chuckylane208@gmail.com

I'm glad I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Lane many years ago. He always greeted me with a warm smile. He was so kind and gentle. A big man with a bigger heart. With a pepsi in hand, he often told us silly jokes. To Ricky and Derek; I am sure your mom and dad are tending to God's garden now. Peace be with you all!

RIP "Unca Bobby". A lot of my cherished childhood memories are of times spent with you, especially at the Russian River, Barstow, and San Francisco. We always looked forward to visiting with you. Love you. Kathe
